About the Illustrator

As a young girl Hayley’s inspiration towards art was first ignited by spending hours with her mother and Grandmother in their craft studio. She has fond memories of joining her grandmother on long walks in the Australian bush. Her grandmother would show her different flowers and animals that she would draw or paint once she returned home.

Hayley’s adult life has kept her very connected to a life in the bush where she loves to walk by herself these days observing kangaroos, dingos, goannas and many Australian birds and creatures that are all her inspiration for her popular art. Hayley said, ‘In the beginning I would draw the animals and give away the art to people that I worked with. Their positive feedback always inspired me to continue.”

Hayley’s art had to stop during a period in her life when she married and became the mother of 4 children.  Family and farming life on a property breeding sheep kept her very busy.

It was not until Hayley became sick with autonomic dysfunction from EDS that her art became an important part of her life once again. Her art aided in her recovery and as an ongoing wellness therapy. Hayley said, “drawing has always been my passion and yes I still have bad days with my health, but it is my Art now that gives me a reason to get up every day and keep going. We went through a rough time with droughts and my sickness and now things look much brighter. I feel good knowing that my art brightens up other people’s days and the money I make goes towards running the farm.”
